Let’s take a moment to look back on the Geospatial Digital Twin Conference 2023, held on October 11-12. This two-day online event, hosted by Geometa, brought together experts in geospatial technology to share their insights and explore the latest trends in the field. The conference was like a treasure chest of knowledge, filled with exciting advancements and practical applications. Join us as we revisit the highlights of this event.
Day 1: Navigating the World of Geospatial Digital Twins
Maria Bobyleva, Geometa’s Head of Marketing, started the day with a comprehensive presentation on the key trends in geospatial digital twins. She covered the importance of a Holistic Approach, Data Sharing and Dissemination, Currency of Data, and Quality of Data.
Andrey Pirogov, Chief Marketing Officer at GeoAlert, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, then took the spotlight to discuss AI-Powered Urban Mapping. He explained the capabilities of AI-Powered Urban Mapping, including ML Building Models, Automatic building height extraction, ML Building Classification Models, ML Forest Models, ML Construction Models, and ML Road Detection Models.
Valentin Kisselev shared his insights into creating a Digital Twin using HelgiLab solutions.
Professor Suhono Harso Supangkat, an academic from the Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, provided valuable insights into the Indonesian experience in digital twin creation. His expertise spans smart cities concepts, smart city governance, and the Internet of Things.
Day 2: Advancing Urban Development and Real-World Case Studies
The second day of the conference was all about practical applications and real-world success stories.
Anton Zakhariuta, an Implementation Engineer at Geometa, showcased real-world use cases He highlighted the power of Geospatial Digital Twins in streamlining river-sensitive urban planning, optimizing urban planning with AI-Powered Vehicle Analysis, and much more.
Anna Sazonova, IT Deputy Director at Grad — Institute for Territorial Planning, offered insights into the Comprehensive Integrated Infrastructure Plan for Urban Development. This powerful tool enables efficient management of a region’s infrastructure, using data-driven, spatially conscious decision-making.
Alexey Dudarev, CEO of Geometa addressed the challenges of implementing digital twins and the importance of streamlined public service delivery. He emphasized the role of the Geometa platform in uniting data from various departments, enabling real-time data analysis, decision-making, document generation, and data maintenance. This approach ensures data quality and accuracy while seamlessly monitoring changes.
